About Hillside Animals
Hillside Animal Sanctuary is a renowned organization founded by Wendy Valentine, who has been a champion for the welfare of horses since establishing Redwings Horse Sanctuary in 1984. Witnessing the distress of battery hens in 1995, Wendy established Hillside Animal Sanctuary to alleviate and advocate for animals in need, particularly those suffering in intensive factory farming. Today, Hillside provides a safe haven for over 4000 animals and has become one of the most influential campaigning organizations in the UK, fighting for the rights of animals.
While many of the rescued animals come from the farming industry, Hillside also offers sanctuary and care to more than 2500 horses, ponies, donkeys, and mules. Recognizing the importance of awareness, Hillside educates the public about the immense cruelty involved in food production.
