About historicalmuseumatstgertrude.org
The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude preserves and shares the heritage of the Monastery of St. Gertrude, the Camas Prairie, the Snake and Salmon Rivers, and surrounding areas in Idaho.
A ministry of the Center for Benedictine Life at the Monastery of St. Gertrude, the museum presents special exhibits about the Benedictine sisters, the Nez Perce people, and local figures including Polly Bemis and Buckskin Bill. Visitors can also see a replica of the original attic museum founded by Sister Alfreda Elsensohn, an Idaho historian.
The museum is open year-round, Monday through Saturday, and welcomes families and visitors of all ages. Its programs include lectures in March and October, family events, and the annual Raspberry Social fundraiser. The Book & Gift Shop offers books on Idaho history, handcrafts, and other items, with some products available online.
On-site, the Inn at St. Gertrude provides bed-and-breakfast hospitality, while the Spirit Center hosts retreats and activities for people of all beliefs. Together, these offerings connect local history, community, and reflection
