Historischer-VereinAudorf

The Audorfer History Association (Historischer Verein Audorf e.V.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to researching and presenting the history of Oberaudorf, Bavaria. Founded more than 35 years ago by local residents interested in history, it works to make knowledge of the area’s heritage accessible to the public and to support local historical research and Heimatkunde. Oberaudorf has been inhabited for more than 3,500 years, and the association highlights traces of that past, including the Auerburg and other significant local sites.

Its activities include presenting historical materials at the Burgtor Museum, supporting and publishing relevant historical works, and promoting knowledge of important places in the community. The museum is open from May through October on Tuesdays and Sundays, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The association also arranges guided visits for groups by request, including tours of historically significant locations. Through its research, publications, museum activities, and guided experiences, the association helps residents and visitors explore Oberaudorf’s layered past and understand the stories behind its landmarks.
