Historisk Forening for Skærbæk og Omegn is a local history association based in Skærbæk, Denmark. Its purpose is to document the history of the Skærbæk area, share it with the public and encourage greater interest in local heritage. The association brings history to life through events, town walks, online stories and information signs at notable buildings and places.
These include the former vicarage, the old secondary school, the former weaving school and Æ Museum, as well as sites in the museum garden. Its displays and stories cover subjects ranging from ancient finds and boundary stones to the resistance movement and Skærbæk’s memorial stumbling stones for victims of Nazism. The association also publishes an annual yearbook, a tradition dating back to 1987, with local historical themes.
Members receive the latest edition as part of their membership, and yearbooks are also available to purchase. Members and non-members alike can sign up for newsletters about events and new activities
