Connecticut History Day, an affiliate program of National History Day, engages middle- and high-school students in historical research, interpretation, and creative expression. Supported by the Connecticut Democracy Center and CT Humanities, the program aims to foster a deeper understanding of history through project-based learning. With a focus on this year's theme, "Turning Points in History," students can explore a wide range of historical topics.
From regional contests to the national contest, students have the opportunity to showcase their projects and enhance their critical thinking skills. Teachers can integrate this academic program into their curriculum for grades 6-12, while parents can witness their child's growth as a historian. Judges also play a critical role in the process by providing feedback and support to passionate students.
