About HITLabNZ
HIT Lab NZ, also known as the Human Interface Technology Laboratory New Zealand, is an internationally acclaimed research center located at the University of Canterbury. Our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to designing innovative ways to enhance people's lives through advanced technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, and immersive game design. With a human-centered approach, we prioritize understanding the needs and challenges of our users before creating technical solutions.
Our research aims to improve the overall user experience by exploring how people interact with these technologies. Established in 2002, HIT Lab NZ is recognized globally as a leader in Human Interface Technology research and education. We collaborate with partners from various sectors, including health, crisis management, environment, sports, construction, and education.
Additionally, we offer Masters and PhD degrees in all aspects of Human Interface Technology. At HIT Lab NZ, we value creativity, diversity, integrity, and collaboration. Our mission is to solve human interface technology problems and have a positive social impact.
