HiveBits

HiveBits is an engineering-led beekeeping company combining traditional apiculture with sensor technology and blockchain-based ownership. Founded by an experienced beekeeper and a software and IoT specialist, the company aims to make hive health easier to monitor and beekeeping more transparent. Its custom hardware tracks each hive’s temperature, humidity, weight, and activity, streaming live data to its HivePulse platform so users can follow colony conditions and honey production.

HiveBits already operates hives and sells honey and other bee products, including bee bread, pollen, propolis, and wax. It reports approximately $200,000 in sales over five seasons and is developing a 300-hive farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project plans to fund the farm through the $NECTAR token round on MetaDAO, with farm revenue intended to support token buybacks; the company states that no yield is promised. HiveBits also plans to publish a farm dashboard and expand its network by enabling other beekeepers to use its hardware as nodes. Its offerings include beekeeping products, hive monitoring, a marketplace, and an apitherapy center.
