Hive to Harvest

Hive To Harvest is a community-focused organization serving people experiencing crisis and food scarcity in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Its mission is to provide healthy food today while building skills and support for greater self-sufficiency over time. Through partnerships with local farms, educators, experts, and organizations, Hive To Harvest cultivates community gardens and develops sustainable food distribution networks to strengthen access to nourishing food and foster community resilience.

Its work is organized around three programs. The Nourish Community Pantry offers free fresh, organic produce and essential groceries, including options for specialty dietary needs such as dairy alternatives. Pantry Plus is a donor-driven program that lets contributors help shape the food available to the community; participating donors may also receive benefits such as discounts on homesteading classes and partner-brand savings. Independence Academy provides workshops and hands-on classes in practical self-sufficiency, including gardening, budgeting, and food preservation, in partnership with local educators. Together, these services address immediate nutritional needs while helping individuals and families develop knowledge and resources to improve wellness, independence, and quality of life.
