Hillsborough Junior Athletics Club (HJAC) is a volunteer-run club that has supported children’s athletics continuously since 1956. Based at Hillsborough Park on Carlton Street in Hillsborough, the club provides a fun, safe and inclusive setting for children aged 2 to 14. Its programme is divided into Junior sessions for ages 2–6 and Senior sessions for ages 7–14, with activities suited to each group’s development.
Training takes place on Wednesdays from 5:45pm, with sessions finishing at around 7pm for Juniors and 7:30pm for Seniors. The club offers athletics skills and coaching, encourages children to enjoy participation, develop their abilities and do their best, and supports involvement in club nights and external events. Athletes and families can also access weekly results, personal bests, season-best performances and club records through the club’s website.
The season generally runs from October to the end of March, with a summer holiday break; a Have-A-Go Day welcomes newcomers. Parents or caregivers must remain on site, and the club encourages families to volunteer
