Hjertestarter

Hjertestarter.dk is a Danish life-saving information and support service associated with TrygFonden. Its mission is to help people respond quickly when someone suffers cardiac arrest by making defibrillators easier to find and encouraging public participation. Visitors can search for nearby defibrillators, learn how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator through step-by-step guidance, and explore facts and research about cardiac arrest response in Denmark.

The site also explains the Hjerteløber volunteer programme. Registered volunteers can receive an alert when a cardiac arrest occurs nearby and may be able to provide assistance. People can learn how the programme works, read volunteers’ experiences, and find answers to common questions. Defibrillator owners can register their devices with the Hjertestarter-Netværket, making them visible to emergency services so callers to 1-1-2 can be directed to one. Users can also report public defibrillators that are missing from the map or not working. Supporting resources include TrygFonden’s Hjertestarter and Hjerteløber mobile apps for iOS and Android.
