The Croatian Library Association (Hrvatsko knjižničarsko društvo, HKD) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing libraries and the librarianship profession in Croatia. Its work includes advocating for the standing of Croatian libraries, supporting professional development, promoting the growth of library services, and fostering international cooperation and partnerships. The Association brings professionals together through specialist sections, commissions, and working groups, and organizes conferences, seminars, round tables, and other events addressing issues across the library sector.

Topics include school and academic libraries, access to information, accessibility and inclusion, collection development, mobile libraries, and collaboration among archives, libraries, and museums. HKD also publishes professional and scholarly resources, including Vjesnik bibliotekara Hrvatske, a peer-reviewed journal covering library and information science, Association activities, and relevant legislation. Its other publications include HKD News and conference proceedings.

Through its events, publications, projects, and professional networks, the Association provides opportunities for knowledge-sharing and cooperation among library professionals, while contributing to discussion about the role of libraries in education, culture, and their communities
