HKK 1952

Heidelberger Karneval Komitee 1952 e.V. (HKK) is the umbrella organization for Heidelberg’s carnival and Fastnacht clubs, bringing together seven member societies to preserve and celebrate local traditions. Founded in 1952 under the chairmanship of Werner J. Braun, the registered association supports community participation in Heidelberg’s festive season.

A central responsibility of the HKK is organizing the Heidelberg Fastnacht parade, a tradition dating back to 1848. The committee also arranges the public handover of the city key to Perkeo, the symbolic figure of Heidelberg Fastnacht. It established the Heidelberger Sume-Orden, awarded to deserving local carnival participants on the recommendation of member clubs.

The HKK provides information about campaign dates, parade participation and member organizations, with registration documents available in its download area. Its website also features photo galleries, archives and full-length recordings of past parades, alongside a digital meeting hall and online Fastnacht content. Through these activities and resources, the committee connects Heidelberg’s carnival societies and helps audiences take part in the city’s seasonal celebrations.
