About Hong Kong Maritime Museum
The Hong Kong Maritime Museum is a vibrant and cultural institution that is dedicated to preserving, collecting, and displaying objects that tell the story of trade and maritime in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta. Founded in 2003 by members of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association, this non-profit registered charity opened its doors in September 2005 at Murray House in Stanley before relocating to Pier 8 in 2013. With over 4,600 square meters of space, the museum showcases more than 1,100 objects in 13 galleries spread across three levels, all of which offer breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour.
In addition to the exhibitions, there is also a special events space, resource center, roof-top café, and gift shop. The museum actively engages with the community by providing education and public programming for schools, community groups, and families. By continuing to strengthen its position in the cultural landscape of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Maritime Museum aims to ensure its ongoing success and growth as an organization
