Scrabble is a renowned word board game, known for its strategic wordplay and competitive gameplay. Two players score points by placing tiles, each bearing a single letter, onto a 15x15 grid game board, in order to form words and earn as many points as possible. Following the global standard rules, the World English-Language Scrabble Players Association (WESPA) Rules Version 3, and the Collins Scrabble Words 2015 word list, competitive Scrabble is recognized as a Mind Sport.

The Hong Kong Scrabble Players Association (HKSPA), a member of WESPA, represents Hong Kong at the international level. Established as the Hong Kong Student Scrabble Players Association (HKSSPA) in 2014, it merged with the main local group in 2015 to host a variety of school and open tournaments throughout the year. In 2015, the HKSPA made history by sending a representative team to international Scrabble competitions, achieving impressive results. Since then, the HKSPA has been dedicated to promoting Scrabble within the school environment and the general community of Hong Kong, attracting both local and overseas players.
