About HKSEC
**Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge (HKSEC)** is a pioneering social venture startup competition established in 2007, organized by the Center for Entrepreneurship at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. With the support of the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau, HKSEC aims to empower and accelerate the growth of youth-led social enterprises (SEs) in Hong Kong. The competition consists of three phases: initial submissions focusing on social needs and venture models, a semi-final for detailed pitch presentations, and a grand final to showcase the top teams.
HKSEC not only provides monetary awards, such as Startup Awards of HK$300,000 for champions, but also emphasizes mentorship and innovation. Each year, exceptional teams address pressing societal issues, ranging across areas like social inclusion, environmental sustainability, and health. Past winners like Seekr, Pink Dolphin, and ReCube exemplify the ingenuity and commitment of the participants, highlighting HKSECโs crucial role in fostering a vibrant social enterprise ecosystem in Hong Kong.
