HL7 Austria is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving electronic data communication and interoperability in the healthcare sector through the use of international standards from Health Level Seven® (HL7®). As the official national representative (affiliate) of HL7 International since 2007, HL7 Austria coordinates the interests of Austrian HL7 users and maintains contacts with international HL7 partner organizations and other national standardization organizations such as the Austrian Interoperability Forum. HL7 Austria adapts HL7 standards to the needs of the Austrian healthcare system and defines national standards like the CDA® implementation guides.

The organization promotes the use of HL7 through events, trainings, certifications, e-Learning, and the provision of standards.
