Herriot Melhuish O’Neill Architects (HMOA) is an NZIA award-winning New Zealand architecture practice established in 1997, with studios in Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown/Wānaka. The practice creates carefully crafted buildings intended to enhance the lives of the people who use and experience them.
HMOA’s residential work includes new homes, renovations and extensions, townhouses, apartments, holiday and beach houses, farmhouses, and the restoration and strengthening of heritage and character buildings. Its wider portfolio includes multi-unit housing, commercial interiors, mixed-use developments, film studios, and adaptive reuse and refurbishment projects. The team also works on public architecture, education, cultural and sporting facilities, gyms, infrastructure and master-planning.
HMOA supports homeowners considering a new build, renovation or subdivision, as well as developers and commercial clients planning housing or other projects. Its architects can guide clients from initial concept through building consent and construction, offering services across a range of project types and locations throughout New Zealand.
