Hurrells Seeds is an independent, third-generation family business based in Yorkshire, supplying grass seed and other small seeds since 1946. The company selects varieties from leading breeders and also grows and cleans seed, serving retail, trade and wholesale customers. Its range covers lawn and amenity grass seed, with specialist mixtures for sports grounds, golf courses, equestrian use, landscaping and drought-prone areas.
Agricultural and forage options include conventional and organic grass seed, catch and cover crops, companion crops, and seed for sustainable farming initiatives. Customers can also find game cover, forage maize, sorghum, Miscanthus rhizomes, wildflower seed and grass-and-wildflower mixtures. Hurrells offers individual seed varieties, calculators and growing guidance, as well as bespoke mixtures prepared on site.
Additional products and services include Mycorrhizae seed treatment, fertiliser, spreaders, soil-improving seeds, professional advice and customer support. The business supplies Defra-approved certified seed and offers delivery and in-store collection. Its stated delivery service includes free delivery to the UK mainland and Scottish Lowlands, with some locations requiring customers to contact the office
