HNHB Regional Cancer Screening Program

The Hamilton Niagara Haldimand Brant Regional Cancer Program works with Ontario Health to support the health of residents in Hamilton, Niagara, Haldimand and Brant. Its focus is cancer prevention and early detection, helping people access routine screening and information about when and where to get checked. The program supports four Ontario screening initiatives: the Ontario Breast Screening Program, the Ontario Cervical Screening Program, ColonCancerCheck and the Ontario Lung Screening Program. These provide free, high-quality screening for eligible people, with lung screening available to those at high risk.

The program offers practical resources for individuals and health care providers, including screening guidance, referral criteria, educational materials and continuing education opportunities. It also shares information on cancer prevention, smoking cessation and Indigenous health, including an Indigenous Patient Navigator, an Indigenous Tobacco Program and pathways to palliative care. For people facing barriers to screening, its Mobile Cancer Screening Coach brings services closer to home.
