About Historic Naval Ships
The Historic Naval Ships Association (HNSA) is a nonprofit organization that connects the public with historic naval vessels and supports the groups that preserve them. Since its first meeting in 1966, HNSA has brought together ship museums and memorials, individuals, businesses, and organizations from around the world. Its member ships are preserved as living memorials to people who served and as resources to educate and inspire future generations.
HNSA promotes the preservation of historic naval vessels by advocating for member organizations, identifying useful practices and resources, and providing a networking and information hub. Its website offers ship lists and an interactive map, educational resources, manuals and documents, and information about veterans’ groups and remote employment opportunities. Members can access selected materials, including a documents and drawings library and past symposium presentations, connect with colleagues through the site’s community, attend the annual symposium, and receive the quarterly Anchor Watch e-newsletter. HNSA also shares ship-related news, membership information, and details about its awards and Hall of Fame.
