Hockey Eastern Ontario

Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) is the governing body for amateur hockey in Eastern Ontario and one of Hockey Canada’s 13 branches. Formerly known as the Ottawa District Hockey Association, it works alongside the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Northwestern Ontario as one of Ontario’s three Hockey Canada branches. HEO supports players, coaches, trainers, officials, volunteers, leagues, districts and associations through information, development programs and administrative resources.

Its offerings include player pathways and age-group programs from U7 through U15, long-term player development, special and para hockey, school floorball, and Hockey Canada’s programs of excellence. Coaches and trainers can access clinics, certification guidance, professional development and training resources, while officials can find registration, clinics and officiating materials. HEO also provides guidance on safe sport, maltreatment reporting, injury information, insurance, vulnerable sector checks and sanctioned hockey. The organization lists tournaments and events, supports tournament registration and sanctioning, and shares news and community resources. HEO emphasizes accessible, safe and inclusive hockey environments for people of varied abilities, backgrounds and interests throughout the region.
