Hoeve Consensus Texel is a small, welcoming accommodation and horse-boarding business just outside Den Burg on the island of Texel. Owners David Tijssen and Leonie van Schaik have run the property since 2013, combining visitor stays with a 21-stall pension stable and care for their own animals. Guests can choose from a four-person apartment or one of three bed-and-breakfast rooms. The apartment welcomes dogs, while the B&B rooms are kept pet-free. Visitors without horses are also welcome.
The property is especially suited to guests travelling with their own horses. Horses can be accommodated in a stable, paddock or pasture, with overnight outdoor stays possible for animals accustomed to them. Feed is provided morning and evening, and hay is available. Hoeve Consensus is a KNHS Paardenwelkom business; Leonie offers dressage and cross-country lessons, and David is an equine veterinarian and “electric” horse dentist. Guests can explore Texel’s beaches, woodland riding trails and island attractions. Hoeve Consensus does not offer riding horses or operate as a riding school.
