Hoffnungsvolle Hände für Tiere

Hoffnungsvolle Hände für Tiere e.V. is a German animal welfare association founded in 2012 in response to the killing of street animals in Ukraine ahead of the European Football Championship. Based in Bruttig-Fankel, the organization works on animal protection matters and helps dogs, cats, and small animals find safe, lasting homes. Prospective adopters can submit a questionnaire, which the association reviews before arranging a meeting with the household and the animal. Adoption proceeds when the match and required formalities are suitable.

The association also supports the Gostomel Shelter in Ukraine through donations and fundraising campaigns. Led by animal advocate Asia Serpinska, the shelter cares for approximately 800 dogs and 400 cats, with ongoing needs for food, accommodation, and care. Hoffnungsvolle Hände für Tiere invites the public to meet its animals and contribute through donations, including seasonal fundraising initiatives such as its Christmas tree campaign. Its work is guided by values including reliability, transparency, safety, trust, and compassion, with the goal of helping animals reach their forever homes.
