Hof Sonnenweide

Hof Sonnenweide is a small horse and pony farm in Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim, located near the Neckar. Founded as a riding and educational business in 2021, it is run by an experienced rider, riding instructor, social pedagogue and certified relaxation trainer. The farm offers a calm, supportive approach that emphasizes wellbeing, enjoyment and respectful relationships with horses, rather than performance or pressure.

Activities include eight-session pony courses for children aged five and above, outdoor riding lessons for beginners of different ages, and accompanied rides for experienced riders. Families can also join parent-and-child riding sessions, while children can experience a 3.5-hour holiday day helping care for horses and other farm animals, with a short riding session included. For women, the farm offers a weekly group experience with horses, mindful breathing exercises and guided walks in nature.

Hof Sonnenweide’s services combine riding with practical animal care and opportunities to unwind outdoors. Sessions are generally arranged by appointment or announced in advance, and some beginner places may be limited.
