Zorgboerderij De Hofsteeg is a small-scale care farm offering older adults with care needs a welcoming and meaningful place to spend the day. Its approach centres on a homely atmosphere, personal attention and respect for each guest’s abilities, focusing on what people can still do rather than what they can no longer manage. The farm welcomes up to 15 guests and aims to provide an enjoyable day while also offering support to their families and home-care situation.

The Hofsteeg began as an agricultural business with pig farming and arable cultivation. Since launching its day-care service in 2008, it has continued to draw on its rural setting and agricultural experience. A large vegetable garden now occupies the former cherry orchard, with the aim of helping the farm become self-sufficient, and guests can enjoy the presence of the farm’s animals. The organisation also provides its own transport. Professional care staff are present, supported by volunteers and trainees, and the team coordinates with caregivers, home-care providers and other professionals involved in each guest’s support.
