Introducing おたるワイン〚北海道ワイン株式会社〛, also known as HOKKAIDO Wine! As the largest winery in Hokkaido, our brand has been dedicated to crafting exceptional wines since 1972. Situated on a mountainside in Otaru, Hokkaido, our winery enjoys a picturesque view of the forest and sea at an altitude of 225 meters. Our winemaking process benefits from the unique advantages of our location.

The cool environment and the use of cold natural water from underground ensure a stable fermentation temperature throughout the vinification process. We have implemented a gravity system, allowing grapes to flow naturally through each stage of production, resulting in carefully crafted and exquisite wines. We pride ourselves on using 100% Japanese grapes, predominantly sourced from Hokkaido.

With our three vineyards and a network of over 200 contract grape growers, we produce between 2,000 and 2,500 tonnes of grapes annually. Among our series of wines, the Otaru-series stands out with its delightful natural flavor, particularly the beloved Otaru Niagara. Our flagship wine, the Tsurunuma-series, is made from our own vineyard's hand-harvested late harvest grapes, ensuring the utmost quality.

We even produce limited-edition wines during exceptional harvests and noble-rot conditions, resulting in sweet and luscious delights that age beautifully. With the recognition of the Geographical Indication of wine HOKKAIDO by the National Tax Agency of Japan, our wines embody the uniqueness and excellence of Hokkaido's terroir.
