Holstein UK is a member organisation and Europe’s largest independent dairy breed society, serving farmers and the wider dairy industry. Its work focuses on improving the genetics, quality and profitability of Holstein and British Friesian cattle, helping breeders develop productive, robust herds and supporting the traceability and authenticity of registered animals.

The Society offers members a broad portfolio of breeding and herd services, including animal registrations, milk recording, type classification, genomic and health testing, herd data tools, and guidance to support breeding decisions. Its digital resources include animal searches, herd management services and the Bull Selector. Members can also access cattle tags through Approved Registered Cattle and take part in events, competitions, training and networking opportunities.

Holstein UK supports the next generation through Holstein Young Breeders, which offers activities and learning opportunities for young people aged 26 and under with an interest in dairy farming. Its wider group includes the Cattle Information Service, the National Bovine Data Centre, and the British Friesian Breeders Club.
