The Paul E. Holton Eco-Preserve and Accredited Arboretum is a 12.5-acre nature preserve on the grounds of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fort Myers in Florida. Established on land gifted by Paul E. Holton in 1997, it provides a natural oasis within a developed area and showcases trees and plants native to southwest Florida or suited to the region without being invasive.
A pond forms the center of the grounds, surrounded by trees including cocoplum, red maple, sweet acacia, and several oak varieties. Beyond the pond, a wooded path passes through a designated wetland, where bald cypress and slash pines are among the predominant trees. Visitors can explore the collection through an arboretum map and self-guided tour, and discover the gardens, woodland paths, and seasonal blossoms and fruits.
The preserve also supports ecology and environmental education. Its landscape inspired “Earth Wonders,” a children’s curriculum focused on respect for the interdependent web of existence. The organization hosts events, including Earth Day activities, and welcomes donations to support its work.
