HomeBirth Alaska

HomeBirth Alaska is a single-midwife practice serving families in the greater Anchorage area. Led by Onica Sprokkreeff, a licensed Alaska Direct-Entry Midwife with more than a decade of community experience, the practice provides individualized, holistic care grounded in both traditional midwifery and modern, evidence-based approaches. Onica is also a Certified Professional Midwife and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and has attended hundreds of community births in Alaska.

Services include prenatal care, planned homebirth and water birth support, and postpartum care for parents and newborns. Clients can meet with Onica before choosing care, then receive appointments tailored to their needs throughout pregnancy, with more frequent visits as the due date approaches. During labor and birth, she supports physiologic birth, monitors for concerns, and consults appropriately. After birth, in-home visits help assess recovery and newborn well-being, while specialized breastfeeding guidance supports families from the first latch through later nursing needs.

HomeBirth Alaska emphasizes informed choice, compassionate support, and a respectful experience.
