Homegrown Gravel

Homegrown Gravel Adventure is an independent cycling event organized by Independent Gravel, LLC, in partnership with the City of Franklin, Georgia. Set near the Georgia–Alabama border, the event celebrates grassroots gravel riding with challenging courses, a welcoming community atmosphere, and a distinctly Southern character. Riders can choose from four distances: a 20-mile introductory ride, a 40-mile ride, a 62-mile race, or a 100-mile race. The routes cover gravel roads across two states and are designed for a range of experience and ambition, from newcomers to endurance-focused racers.

Homegrown emphasizes an unpolished, community-minded approach rather than a standardized race format. Entry proceeds, after expenses, go back to the Franklin community, and the event also supports local giving initiatives, including a scholarship. Riders can find event information, rules, frequently asked questions, lodging guidance, results, and volunteer opportunities through its website. The experience includes more than riding: participants have praised the course, helpful volunteers, clear communications, post-ride meal, beverages, and event merchandise.
