The Brian Bisgrove Home of Courage is a family respite retreat in Auburn, New York, operated by the nonprofit Champions for Life, Inc. It honors Auburn native Brian Bisgrove, who died of cancer at age 21. The Bisgrove family donated Everest Park, a 160-acre property of farmland, woods, hills, streams, and a pond, where Champions for Life built athletic fields and a log cabin for families with children under 18 facing life-threatening illnesses or debilitating medical, developmental, or medical conditions.
The home offers eligible New York State families a peaceful place to spend time together, relax, and reconnect. Stays run from Wednesday to Sunday. Guests receive household essentials, including linens and towels, and can choose some groceries from a provided list; families bring additional food to prepare their own meals. On the grounds, visitors can hike, enjoy the streams and scenery, gather around a fire pit, use the swingset, or fish and take small boats on the pond. The home is funded through Champions for Life programs, donations, and sponsorships.
