About Honolulu Rail Transit
HART, the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation, is a semi-autonomous public transit authority responsible for developing and expanding the high-capacity fixed guideway rapid transit system in the City and County of Honolulu. Their main project is an 18. 9-mile, automated fixed-guideway rail system with 19 stations running from East Kapolei Station to the Civic Center Station.
HART is governed by a Board of Directors and a Chief Executive Officer, consisting of local officials, business leaders, subject matter specialists, and advocates. They are dedicated to providing a safe, reliable, and functional rail transit system to the city. In addition to planning, designing, and constructing the rail system, HART is also involved in procurement, sustainability, historic and cultural preservation, and media relations.
