Hookpod Ltd is a commercial organization driven by conservation. Established by a small group of shareholders, our aim is to eliminate seabird bycatch in pelagic longline fisheries. Our philosophy centers around conservation objectives, with a proportion of profits being dedicated to seabird conservation projects.

As we expand, fishermen and end users will benefit from improved value for money. Our story began in 2005 when British brothers Ben & Pete Kibel, along with bycatch expert Dr. Ben Sullivan, BirdLife International, and the fishing industry, started working on solving the issue of seabird bycatch.

After years of development and collaboration, we finalized the design by 2013 and achieved positive trial results. Private investment allowed us to establish the company and continue development. Over the past decade, we have received support from the conservation world and shareholders committed to eliminating albatross bycatch.

We are dedicated to achieving a world without albatross bycatch on pelagic longlines. Collaboration and support from various organizations have been instrumental in our success. At Hookpod, we are committed to sustainability and reducing environmental impact.
