HookProbe is an open-source, AI-native edge security platform designed to give small businesses and distributed organisations accessible threat detection and response. Its self-hosted approach keeps security data on customersโ own hardware, avoiding mandatory cloud subscriptions. The software can run on devices ranging from Raspberry Pi and other ARM systems to x86 servers, and the company says basic deployment takes less than five minutes.
At its core, the NAPSE engine combines intrusion detection, network security monitoring and intrusion prevention, with more than 50,000 detection rules and XDP-based packet blocking. The platform also offers real-time dashboards, security posture scoring, threat intelligence, vulnerability assessment, event logging and automated response capabilities. Its distributed mesh allows participating nodes to share anonymised threat signatures.
HookProbe provides several deployment options: a free Sentinel tier for one device, Guardian for personal use, and Fortress for business networks. Nexus, an ML/AI compute hub, is in development. For service providers, MSSP offers self-hosted central management across edge nodes. The project is offered under an AGPL licence.
