About Hoosick History
Hoosick History is a brand that celebrates the rich heritage of the town of Hoosick, which has a historical significance that dates back to the colonial era. Our mission is to explore, preserve, and share the history and artifacts that commemorate the town and its role in the growth and development of the region. Through the Louis Miller Museum, we provide a hands-on experience for visitors, where they can explore the fascinating history of Hoosick.
Our museum houses vast collections that showcase the people, places, and events that shaped Hoosick and the surrounding area. From the memorabilia of Grandma Moses to an extensive collection on the Battle of Bennington, our exhibits offer a glimpse into the diverse history of the town. Unlike other museums, we encourage visitors to touch and even try on antique clothing! Additionally, our website offers a treasure trove of resources, including archives of newspapers, obituaries, wedding announcements, biographies, and essays on various historical topics.
To support our mission, we rely on the community's generous donations and encourage individuals to become members of the Hoosick Historical Society and Louis Miller Museum. By becoming a member, you contribute to the preservation of our region's history. So come explore Hoosick History - both online and at our museum - and dive into the fascinating stories and artifacts that make up our rich heritage
