Hoover Lights is a family-run Christmas light display in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, created by the Hoover family to share seasonal cheer with the community. The tradition began in 2005 and, following a move to Chapel Hill in 2019, the display grew to feature approximately 80,000 lights. Formerly known as Lights on Sparrow Street and Lights on Old Charlotte, Hoover Lights presents a computerized show synchronized to music.
Visitors can park along the road, tune their radios to 87. 9 FM, and enjoy a performance lasting about 20 minutes. The display is free to attend and typically runs from the Friday after Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve; visitors are encouraged to check the family’s Facebook page for current updates.
Hoover Lights also hosts a community food drive, collecting canned and other non-perishable goods and monetary contributions to support local families through the area food pantry. The organizers state that all donations stay local. Located at 1390 Neil Road, Hoover Lights offers families and visitors a festive seasonal experience while supporting community giving
