CA Hooves For Healing

Hooves for Healing is an equine-focused organization based in Petaluma, California, dedicated to helping people and horses thrive through compassionate care and shared experiences. Founded in 2020 as Loscutoff Equine Rescue, it grew from horse rescue work into a community offering therapeutic, educational, and recreational programs. Its mission is to connect horses and people while supporting healing, confidence, and personal growth.

The organization provides individualized equine-assisted therapy intended to support emotional and physical well-being, including reduced anxiety, improved emotional regulation, and greater self-esteem. Riding lessons are available in both English and Western styles, for beginners and more experienced riders, with an emphasis on developing riding skills and a connection with horses. Hooves for Healing also runs summer camps featuring daily riding, art projects, obstacle courses, and practical learning about horse care, anatomy, history, and equipment. The camps welcome children and adults and can be arranged as school field trips. Its programs are supported by five rescue horses, which participate as partners in the organization’s work.
