The West Virginia Hope Scholarship Program is a state education-choice initiative administered through the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office. It helps qualifying West Virginia families create learning arrangements suited to their students’ educational needs, rather than requiring full-time attendance at public school. Eligible K–12 students may receive scholarship funds for tuition, homeschool curriculum, and other approved educational expenses.

To qualify, students generally must be West Virginia residents, be enrolled or eligible to enroll in a West Virginia public school when applying, be under 21, and not have completed secondary education. The program also provides eligibility information for incoming kindergarten students and, beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, certain existing private-school and traditional homeschool students.

Families can use the program’s website to apply, manage accounts, review expense policies, and find handbooks, forms, videos, webinars, and participating schools and service providers.
