The Horowhenua Art Society is a community of artists and art enthusiasts based at 119 Bath Street in Levin, New Zealand. Established in 1949, the Society promotes creativity and artistic expression, providing welcoming opportunities for people to make, learn about and enjoy art.
Members can attend untutored drawing and painting sessions on weekday mornings from Monday to Thursday, working on personal projects alongside other artists. The Society also offers classes at different times of the year, with topics including children’s art, jewellery, watercolour, drawing and introductory “Give-it-a-Go” activities. Periodic workshops cover a range of artistic genres.
The Society hosts open weekends on the last weekend of each month, when visitors can explore its Gallery in the Park and meet artists working in the studio. People interested in taking part can join through annual or six-month memberships. With group sessions, classes, workshops and public events, Horowhenua Art Society supports local creative activity and helps connect people through art in the Levin community.
