Horse Cottage Stables

Horse Cottage Stables is a private equine care facility in Pelham, Ontario, in the Niagara Region. Founded by Denise and Howard Carpenter, the farm provides adult horse owners with a quiet, relaxed place to spend time with their horses, away from the bustle of a public riding school. It is not a public lesson barn, and stall availability may be limited or offered by special request.

The property developed into a horse athlete facility, with new stalls, an arena, turnout areas and an exercise machine added during a 2010 expansion. Horse Cottage Stables offers facilities and care for horses, and its website has also advertised Thoroughbreds for sale, including horses seeking new homes.

The Carpenters describe themselves as responsible stewards of their agriculturally zoned land. Working with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, they support wildlife habitat while raising livestock, caring for horses and growing food. More than 2,000 plantings were established on the property to attract and support wildlife such as birds, butterflies, frogs and bees.
