Horse Meadow is a family-run stable and nature-based retreat where people, horses and the land are cared for as part of a connected way of life. The team describes it as a quiet, personal place rather than an event centre, opening its doors for activities when they suit both the horses and visitors. Its approach centres on calm, trust and meaningful relationships, without pressure to perform.
Horse Meadow offers individual therapy and mindful walks, women’s retreats and restorative stays, as well as programmes, camps and gatherings for children and families. Horses are treated as partners in these experiences, not attractions. Visitors can also learn about the stable’s horses and other animals, or support the place through one-time contributions, horse adoption and ongoing involvement.
Care for the surrounding land is another part of the work, including gardening, soil care, hay and vermicomposting. In season, the children run a Sunday window offering coffee and simple refreshments when the weather allows.
