Horsemen Flight

The Horsemen Flight Team is an aerobatic formation team founded more than a quarter century ago and recognized as the world’s only P-51 Mustang formation aerobatic team. Comprised of Ed Shipley, Steve Hinton, and Dan Friedkin, the team began by flying the iconic P-51 Mustang in tribute to the aircraft’s history. Over time, it has expanded its expertise to include a variety of formation-flying platforms, while maintaining the same adventurous spirit and respect for the aircraft it flies.

The team performs at airshows and other aviation events, presenting formation aerobatics that celebrate historic aircraft and the skill of coordinated flight. Its philosophy, “Escape Life’s Gravity,” reflects a passion for seeking new adventures in the sky rather than defining the team by particular pilots, aircraft, or routines. The Horsemen Flight Team shares upcoming appearances and information about its pilots and planes through its website. Based in Houston, Texas, the team describes flying as both a personal getaway and an opportunity to honor the aircraft it is privileged to ride.
