The International Horse Sports Confederation (IHSC) was established in 2013 with the goal of bringing together the leading governing bodies for equine sport. The IHSC is a not-for-profit and politically neutral association governed by FEI Statutes as well as the Swiss Civil Code. Its main mission is to promote cooperation and the exchange of information between the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) and the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA).
In addition, the IHSC represents the interests of the horse industry with the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and other international bodies. The IHSC offers various services and initiatives, including the IHSC Taskforce for Brexit and EU Animal Health Law, which aims to address challenges related to these issues. The IHSC also focuses on horse welfare and strives to implement the highest standards of health, safety, welfare, and quality of life for competition horses.
Through continuous review and promotion of these standards, the IHSC ensures the well-being of horses in equestrian sport
