Hospitalsklovnen Stella

Hospitalsklovnen Stella is the professional identity of an independent hospital clown who has worked with children and families in hospital settings since 2003. Guided by respect, humility, empathy and sensitivity to each situation, Stella brings playful moments into the vulnerable environment of a hospital. Her work has included more than 21 years of weekly visits to Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen and over 22 years of twice-weekly visits to Hvidovre Hospital. She continues to visit children’s departments at Nordsjællands Hospital, where she has been active for 23 years.

Alongside her hospital work, Stella creates music for children and listeners of all ages. She released a single in 2009 and wrote the songs for the album Alle Regnbuens Farver in 2011, collaborating with Jan Rørdam. The songs address themes including peace, anti-bullying, low self-esteem, loss, care for one another and protecting the Earth. Stella’s website shares her story and information about sponsors, an event called Stella Løbet, fundraising accounts and contact details, while her Facebook page offers more current updates.
