Hot Air Ohio is a Medina, Ohio-based ballooning company offering hot air balloon rides across northeast Ohio. Founded in 2020, the business began with private flights for two passengers over Medina County and expanded its fleet in 2024 to accommodate up to four passengers. Except for single-rider bookings, flights remain private, so guests are not paired with other passengers. The rides offer a memorable way to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and engagements, mark a bucket-list experience, or simply enjoy Ohio from above. Hot Air Ohio also provides scheduling and pricing information and offers aerial advertising.

The company is led by pilot James Mitchell, whose ballooning experience dates back to his first flight in 2003. He began flying balloons in 2005 and earned his private and commercial balloon pilot licenses in 2006 and 2008, respectively. Mitchell holds additional fixed-wing aviation ratings and is also a commercial pilot for United Airlines. Hot Air Ohio aims to make local balloon flights accessible, sharing the scenery and experience of ballooning close to home.
