HotelScout is an independent hotel directory helping travelers discover places to stay around the world. Its catalogue features more than 34,000 hotels across 183 countries, searchable by destination, region, and curated collection. Travelers can explore city and regional guides, as well as themed selections such as boutique, luxury, rooftop, romantic, and budget hotels.
Each listing combines official property information, including address, room count, amenities, and star rating, with handpicked photos and guest ratings aggregated from verified stays. HotelScout says listings must meet quality requirements, including a written description, a geocoded location, and at least three photos, before publication. Its editorial team reviews flagged listings, and pages display when they were last updated.
HotelScout is free to browse and does not take bookings directly. Instead, hotel pages provide links to properties or established booking partners, where reservations and payments are completed. The company earns commissions from partner bookings, but says these do not affect which hotels appear or their rankings.
