About Hot Luck
Hot Luck is a live food and music festival created by James Beard Award-winning pitmaster Aaron Franklin, Guerilla Suit principal and Mohawk owner James Moody, and Feast Portland co-founder Mike Thelin. Described as a do-it-yourself gathering of the culinary and music worlds, it brings chefs, bands, food, drinks, and lively events together for a weekend celebration.
The 2026 program includes Giddy Up, a live-fire feast at Franklin Barbecue on October 16, where chefs serve distinctive bites and drinks. House Party takes place at Assembly Hall on October 17, featuring dishes from chefs across the country in an indoor-outdoor setting, alongside music and refreshments. The festival also highlights concerts, including a 2026 performance by Mon Rovia at Mohawk, with additional music planned.
Hot Luck offers ticket packages, including a Whole Enchilada pass that covers key events and music. Its website also provides event details, lodging information, a merchandise store, and opportunities for partnerships, volunteering, and press applications. The festival partners with the Southern Smoke Foundation.
