THE HOSPICE OF THE VALLEYS

Hospice of the Valleys is a charity supporting people in Blaenau Gwent who are living with a life-limiting condition, as well as the loved ones who matter to them. Established in 1991 through the efforts of local people, the organisation remains rooted in community support. Its aim is to help people live well and die with dignity, with care shaped around each person’s priorities, needs and circumstances.

Its services include specialist nursing and hospice-at-home care, community support, care in community hospitals and care homes, and the CARIAD dementia service. The hospice also offers family support, bereavement support and complementary therapies, alongside courses, resources and guidance for health and social care professionals. People can access information about referrals and hear from patients and families through shared stories.

Community donations and fundraising help make this care possible. Supporters can give, volunteer, take part in events, fundraise at schools or workplaces, or contribute through the charity’s shops and online shop. Hospice of the Valleys is guided by quality, compassion and togetherness.
