HoverTome

HoverTome is a virtual reality e-reader designed to make reading books and comics immersive, comfortable, and personal. Available for Meta Quest headsets through the Meta Horizon Store, the app places sharp, print-like pages wherever readers want them, from a cozy cabin to a garden, alpine lodge, or outer space. Users can choose from 17 reading environments or switch them off to read in passthrough, and customize the experience with different typefaces, paper styles, text sizes, spacing, and margins.

The app supports EPUB and PDF books, along with CBZ and CBR comic archives; MOBI books and CBR files convert automatically. Readers can import files directly from their headset or transfer them from a computer. A virtual library displays books with their covers and includes search, sorting, and access to 96 free classics. Features include word definitions available offline, chapter navigation, two-page comic spreads, and controller-free hand tracking. HoverTome is priced at $9.99 and emphasizes a focused reading experience without accounts, feeds, or unnecessary clutter.
