HowToOutlook is excited to announce the availability of the 2023 H1 Cumulative Update (CU) for Exchange Server 2019, also known as CU13. This update includes fixes for customer reported issues along with all previously released Security Updates. One of the exciting features of this update is the introduction of Modern authentication, which replaces outdated Basic authentication with OAuth 2.

0-based authentication, providing increased security. Outlook on Windows is the first client to support Modern authentication in Exchange Server 2019, with support for other Outlook clients expected later this year. Another improvement in this update is the configuration backup and restore feature, which preserves custom settings during the installation process.

To make use of these new features, customers need to run /PrepareAD with this CU. It's important to note that Exchange Server 2013 and earlier versions are no longer supported, so it's recommended to upgrade to the latest CU.
